Jon is currently in his seventh year as the head of the MFA Playwriting Program at Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Jon's students have won several national awards and received productions of their plays in New York, Baltimore, D.C., and Seattle. Information on the Playwriting Program at CUA may be found at http://drama.cua.edu/graduate/mfa-playwriting.cfm.
Current MFA thesis productions, both included in the Mainstage Season at CUA Drama, are THE LANGUAGE OF INFINITY by Rachel Barclay (November 2011) and ALIEN INVADERS by Frank DiSalvo (February 2012). Go here for tickets.
We are especially excited by the news that an unprecedented two out of five students (Bob Bartlett and Tim Guillot) have won slots in the 2011-2012 Kendeda Graduate Playwriting Competition, with readings of their plays to be performed at the Lark Play Development Center in New York City and in the Kendeda Festival at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, in February of 2012. More information on the Kendeda plays may be found here.
Below is a recent list of CUA Playwriting student and alumni accomplishments, which I will keep updating with regularity. For a complete list of accomplishments, beginning with my arrival at Catholic University in 2004, contact me directly.
